Founded in November 2016 by Mrs. Joy Green, a passionate and experienced African cook with over 27 years in the kitchen, our restaurant is dedicated to serving delicious, homemade meals rooted in rich cultural heritage.

👩‍🍳 Meet the Founder – Mrs. Joy Green

Mrs. Joy Green’s love for cooking began as a little girl, watching her mother and grandmother prepare traditional meals with care, love, and skill. Inspired by the flavors of her childhood and the stories shared around the family kitchen, Joy developed a deep passion for cooking at a young age. Over the years, she honed her craft, mastering the art of African cuisine and transforming that early passion into a lifelong career.

Today, Joy brings those same family recipes and techniques to The Green Place, where every dish tells a story — of culture, comfort, and connection.
